Upgrade Future

While Boris 4.18 marked the end of 16-Bit Windows functionality,
it is just the beginning of Boris software enhancements to come.

The computer industry is an ever-expanding one. Moore's Law (coined by Intel's Founder) tells us that computing power will double every 18 months. As it turns out, Moore's law may actually be an understatement. These improvements, while a blessing as well as a curse, are also inevitable. Put simply, things change.

In the PC-whirl'd, 1999 found people switching from Windoze 95 to 98, and now again to Win-2000; not to mention the advances being made in the Macintosh world. Future Boris Versions will include: 4.45a Update, 4.45b Update, 4.50 Update, Boris 5.0, Boris Millenium and even an Educator Edition for Blackjack Instructors, System Sellers and Book authors.

Boris 4.5

Boris-for-Blackjack continues to offer the ultimate in state-of-the-art Blackjack Software.

• The Casino world changes almost as frequently as the Computer Arena.
  In response to these changes, a website facility will be made freely-available to registered software users, allowing you to D/L the latest casino changes, strategy file enhancements and even program file updates.
  

• Current Boris 4.X users are entitled to a free upgrade to Boris 4.45.
  
• Boris 4.45 includes the following enhancements:
  • New Shuffle Machine Simulations for ShuffleMaster KING and One-2-Six Shufflers.
    
  • Improved Screen Graphics, along with Enhancements taking advantage of the 32-Bit Controls available with Windows 95/98/NT, as well as Active-X controls we've custom-designed, smoothing Boris' transition into the new millenia.
    
    
  • The beginning of an enhanced Critique/Feedback Facility, utilizing specially-designed sound files.
    (Under Select Player Evaluation).
    
  • Faster Blind-Simulation Speed (over 4X improvement) thanks to the use of the 32-Bit Instruction Set and "tighter" software "Object" design.
    
    
  • The 16-Bit Casino Descriptor installation files have been replaced by a new Casino Database Installation Facility.
• As we progress thru 2015, a set of FREE Software Utilities will be made available to the Blackjack community at large. These will include:
  • A Blackjack Shoe Viewer, allowing you to display Boris .SHOE files (to be made available on the Clump-card Blackjack Team Practice Webpage, as well as other sources (including Boris-user Websites).

Boris 5.0

• Boris 5.X will include the following enhancements:

  • Fully object-based to more fully take advantage of the capabilities of todays computer systems. This will include new Active-X Controls and DLL's which (amongst other features) will enable betting with checks (chips) as found in live-casino play.
    
  • The ability to utilize custom-made sound files in place of the existing sound files.
    
  • New A-I (Artificially-Intelligence) players will enable you to compare "Perfect Players" against, real world strategies and conditions.
    
  • Additional A-I players will enable you to evaluate unconventional strategies such as NBJ, PBJ, WCB, B.I.A.S. and Target 21.
    
  • An enhanced Strategy Design Facility will be introduced, allowing you to design Custom Betting and Playing Strategy combinations, creating custom .SDT Files (in addition to the Strategy Definition Database). The ability to devise Clumping strategies as well as Counting strategies and unique betting progressions will be included, along with the ability to declare what level of visibility a .SDT file will allow other users.
    
  • Lotus/Excel Compatible Spreadsheet Utilization
    
  • The first-ever Design-A-Shuffle, allowing you to accurately recreate shuffle procedures you have observed during live casino play. This utility, fully mouse-driven, will enable you to move cards around, plug them, strip them riffle them and wash them like live casino dealers do.
    (Available in the to-be-introduced Professional "Plus" Edition).
    
  • Current Boris Users will receive advance announcement of Boris 5.X's release while automatically qualitfying for a DEEP price cut when the time comes to upgrade.

Boris Millenium Plus

Originally named the Professional "Plus" Edition, this Release of Boris will satisfy the needs of even the most descriminating Professional Blackjack player. Boris Millenium as a product will become available sometime in 2015.

Boris Millenium will include the following enhancements:

• Fully object-oriented to more fully take advantage of the capabilities of todays computer capabilities.
  

• Recursive/Look-head Strategy Analysis
  
• Back by popular demand, Multiple Blackjack Tables will once again be supported.
  
• The ability to play Blackjack online with other players.

Educator Edition

This Edition of the Software is intended for Blackjack Instructors, Mentors and Consultants. With this Software Edition, you will be able to test and evaluate the progress of other players. A Playback facility will allow you to evaluate games recorded with other Boris software Editions. Slide-projector support will facilitate live demonstrations.
